GoL pledges US$1.8M Support for Community Health Services
The Government of Liberia(GoL), through the Vice President, Dr. Jewel Howard –Taylor, has pledged US $1.8Million support for community health services in the country.
Speaking on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the climax of the 3rd International Community Health Symposium, Madam Taylor said it is the GoL commitment to providing the needed support for community Health Workers across thecountry.
According to Vice President Taylor, health practitioners in Liberia have made a significant impact by taking basic health services to far to reach areas across the country.
She said the government is prepared and committed to provide the necessary support to community Health Workers in making sure all Liberians have access to health care.
She disclosed that with the commitment from the government, health practitioners must double their efforts in ensuring that citizens have sustainable health services.
At the same time, the Vice President showered praises on health workers for their dedicated role played in fighting Measles, COVID-19, malaria, Mal nutrition, among others.
Meanwhile, the Vice President encouraged the international partners to continue their support to the health sector of Liberia.
