Liberia, UAE Deepen Diplomatic Ties

Liberia’s newly accredited Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed Dukuly, has officially presented his Letters of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The ceremony took place on December 1, 2025, at the Presidential Palace.

Ambassador Dukuly described the moment as a meaningful milestone in Liberia’s diplomatic journey, highlighting the importance of strengthening relations with one of the world’s fastest-growing and most influential nations.

During the audience with the UAE President, Ambassador Dukuly conveyed warm and cordial greetings from Liberia’s President, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., reaffirming the Liberian government’s commitment to deepening cooperation.

According to the Ambassador, discussions focused on shared interests, including economic collaboration, trade expansion, agriculture, education, health, and regional security areas both nations consider pivotal for long-term partnership.

Ambassador Dukuly said the meeting underscored Liberia’s desire to tap into the UAE’s growing investment portfolio and development expertise, especially in sectors central to Liberia’s national growth agenda.

He noted that the UAE has emerged as a key player in global development, and Liberia stands ready to engage in mutually beneficial initiatives that will create opportunities for both countries.

In his remarks, Ambassador Dukuly extended heartfelt congratulations to the UAE on the celebration of its 54th anniversary of unification, commending the nation’s progress and global standing.

He also expressed best wishes for continued peace, prosperity, and strengthened collaboration between the governments and peoples of Liberia and the UAE.

The Ambassador emphasized that Liberia views the UAE as a strategic partner, capable of contributing to the country’s development priorities in energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and technological innovation.

He highlighted that the UAE’s growing role in Africa presents significant avenues for deeper engagement, including investment missions, trade forums, and high-level policy dialogues.

Ambassador Dukuly stated that the meeting paved the way for exploring new channels of cooperation, with both sides expressing readiness to expand diplomatic and economic ties.
